Cancellation & Refund Policy

This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for Johnson Cabinets' services. Because every project is custom, your signed project contract always controls — this page summarizes our general approach.

1. Quotes and Consultations

Our quotes and in-home consultations are free and come with no obligation. If you have scheduled a consultation and need to cancel or reschedule, please call or email us as soon as possible — we appreciate at least 24 hours' notice so we can offer the time to another homeowner.

2. Your Right to Cancel a Signed Contract

If you sign a contract with us in your home (or somewhere other than our place of business), federal law — the FTC's Cooling-Off Rule — gives you the right to cancel the contract within three (3) business days of signing, for any reason, without penalty. If you cancel within this period, any deposit you paid will be refunded in full.

To cancel under the Cooling-Off Rule, notify us in writing (email or mail) within three business days of signing:

3. Cancellations After the Cooling-Off Period

After the three-day cooling-off period, cancellation terms are governed by your signed contract. Because cabinet refacing involves custom-measured and custom-ordered materials:

  • Once custom materials, doors, or components have been ordered for your project, their cost may be non-refundable.
  • Deposits may be partially retained to cover materials already ordered and work already performed, as set out in your contract.
  • We will always work with you in good faith — if plans change, contact us as early as possible so we can minimize costs on both sides.

4. Cancellations by Us

If we must cancel or cannot complete your project for reasons within our control, any amounts you have paid for work not performed and materials not ordered will be refunded promptly.

5. Refund Processing

Approved refunds are issued using your original payment method whenever possible, or by check, within fourteen (14) business days of approval.

6. Concerns About Completed Work

Refunds are not a substitute for our workmanship commitment. If you have any concern about completed work, contact us first at (804) 835-2023 or unifiedcab2.5@gmail.com — we will inspect the issue and make it right in line with the warranty terms in your contract.
